Horizonte, Salt Lake City School District’s alternative high school and adult education center, has the benefit of a tremendous group of supporters who facilitate Horizonte graduates who seek, receive and utilize a Horizonte applied tech or college scholarship. ¬†Thanks go to

  • James and Shannon Andersen, Doctors Ric and Janet Harnsberger, founders of the Horizonte Scholarship Fund (HSF) back in the late 1990s and HSF Board members who have served and given so generously through the years.
  • Horizonte administrators, staff and teachers who welcome, embrace, encourage, advise and successfully teach formerly unsuccessful traditional high school students, immigrants and refugees to their high school diplomas.
  • Salt Lake Community College and School of Applied Technology administrators and staff who have made great and successful efforts to bridge and transition Horizonte graduates and scholarship awardees to college and applied tech.
  • Horizonte youth and adult students who choose a new beginning, show-up, participate and persevere to their high school diploma, seek and are awarded scholarships to continue to raise themselves and their families.
